Hello Humans!
Happy Tuesday + YAY BLOG POST DAY! Today is all about Allory + Devin and their backyard wedding!
These two – actually they modeled for me as a couple in my wedding class back in my college days then the other weekend I got to be the photographer at their real wedding. I have known Allory + her sisters since I was 16 when we were all in our Applebees serving days… the stories I could tell.. At one point I did work with Allory + Devin at the Waterloo location – BUT what happens on the server expo line stays there and then gets drunk about at the bar later hehe! 😉
So, their wedding day! AH! It was about 60 degrees, a little misty when we first arrived at their house. They had the tent set up in the backyard and the pergola that has been at three out of the four sisters weddings on the opposite side. The sisters sign it on their wedding days, too.
We were able to grab detail shots right away and mingle before Devin arrived to do the first look between the two of them. In the details we used one of Devin’s Lord of the Rings books because – had to it fit them so well.
From detail photos we lead Allory to the backyard to snag her groom! These two, they are the only ones for each other and you can tell by the way they smile at each other.
Their bridal party was small and sweet so we scooped them up and went downtown Waterloo to grab group photos and photos of Allory + Devin together. It started to rain a little bit more as we headed back to round up family for photos in the backyard.
We went right down their shot list and I kitten you not, on the last photo the down pour opened up and we dove back under the tent immediately after completing all the formals!
Allory and Devin could care less about the rain they rolled with the punches and laughed the day away as we moved the ceremony inside the tent, everyone there just rearrange and dried off the chairs and reset like it was something they did every day.
Daryn, Allory’s brother in law, did the ceremony! They were wrapped in a knot, recited their vows, and promised “I do”. Short, sweet, and surrounded by their closest family and friends.
We snuck these two off for photos with family and friends and a few beers throughout the night, and random moments of laughter and their nephew stealing all the bells.. hehe!
Rain or shine it was perfect and I don’t think I would have it any other way!
We’re so happy for you both and hope these little sneak peeks give you all the joy we felt capturing them!!
Love,
