Wedding Photography Questions to Ask (Know What to Expect)

Wedding photography questions to ask, or at least what my clients have asked to help you make the best decision for your day.

Hey there! Before your consult, I wanted to make sure you had everything you need up front—no second-guessing, no scrambling for details.

Here are the most common questions I get from my intimate wedding clients (and answers you’ll actually want to read):

Q: What does all-day coverage really mean?

All-day coverage means I’m there for the whole story—not just the “pretty parts.” From morning moments and getting ready, to the last dance and everything in between, I’m with you so you can stay present while I capture the real, full narrative. No strict time limits. No “my shift is done” energy.

Q: Do you work with a second photographer or team?

Yep! Some packages include a second shooter (or two), and they’re hand-picked pros I’ve worked with before—people I trust with your memories. Together, we capture multiple angles, behind-the-scenes iPhone content, and all the moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

Q: Do you stay with us during travel?

Nope, and that’s on purpose. I handle all travel and lodging separately—it’s included in your package. That way, you don’t have to worry about coordinating housing for me or my team. I always arrive a few days early and stay close by to avoid any day-of hiccups.

Q: How long does it take to receive our fine art wedding album?

Once you approve the album design, it typically takes 4–6 weeks to print and ship (holiday seasons may add a little time). These are heirloom-quality albums made to last—worth the short wait.

Q: When will we get previews and our full gallery?

You’ll get your preview gallery + BTS iPhone photos within 24–48 hours. Your full gallery is delivered within 4–8 weeks. Need it faster? I offer limited express delivery upgrades (2-week turnaround) for couples who need those memories ASAP.

Q: Why should we pick you as our wedding photographer?

Because I’m not just a vendor—I’m your memory-keeper, story-listener, and honorary teammate. I care deeply about the people you love and the moments you’ll never get back. My clients aren’t numbers. You’re human. And this job? It lights me up in the best way.

Q: Can we add more coverage later?

Absolutely. Whether you want engagement photos, rehearsal dinner coverage, or a full weekend story, I offer flexible add-ons. Every couple’s wedding weekend looks a little different—and I’m here to help you document it your way.

Q: Are you familiar with my planner or venue?

Maybe! But even if I’m not, I always show up with a team-first mindset. I collaborate closely with planners, florists, and other creatives to make sure everything flows smoothly. Connection is a big deal to me—and it shows in the way I work.

Q: How long have you been doing this?

2026 will be my 15th wedding season—and I still tear up during vows. Every couple, every story, every season teaches me something new, and I’m still just as in love with this work as I was when I started.

Q: What happens after our consult?

You’ll receive a personalized proposal that includes your custom package, available add-ons, contract, and invoice—all in one place. A signed contract and retainer officially lock in your date. From there, we’re off and running!

Q: What’s the process after booking?

Once you’re officially booked, I collaborate with your planner (if you have one) to build out your timeline, gather vision notes, and prep for family portraits. No planner? No problem—I’ll guide you through every step. You’ll get clear timelines, helpful questionnaires, and personal check-ins from me throughout your engagement. You’ll never be left wondering what’s next.
