Elopement Photographer Gear List + Everyday Essentials
Photographers love asking:
“What lens did you shoot that on?”
“What backpack is that?”
“Do you have a tripod that doesn’t suck?”
This blog post answers all of that—and more.
I’ve rounded up every tool, tech, and small-but-mighty item I use in my business into one place:

Whether you’re looking to upgrade your gear, refresh your backup systems, or finally find a camera bag that doesn’t break your back, this is the gear I’ve actually used, tested, and packed into the mountains for $10,000+ elopements.
Let’s break it down in my Photographer Gear list:

My Core Camera Gear
The heavy-hitters I use for every shoot:
- Canon R6 II – Fast, sharp, incredible in low light
- Canon RF 135mm 1.8 – My favorite long lens. This thing is so fast and compression dreams
- Canon RF 28-70 2.0 – My bread and butter. She’s heavy but never leaves my body.
- Godox V1 – Because it’s so easy to use, and get quick off-camera flash photos
All linked in the camera gear section of Tech Gear (affiliate link).

Off Camera Flash Specific Gear
Because I’m not not bringing flash to my destination elopements! How I get great light that fits in my carry on bags
- Godox V1 – I love the round head flashes so much for the pattern it gives the light
- Tripods I travel with (that fit in my roller carry on bag)
All in the “OCF” section.
Film Gear
What I use for 35mm film, to polaroids
Shop it in my “Film Essentials” Section
Podcast Gear – For Cameras & Carseats
Want to see what we use to record the podcast with? I listed everything there!
All of this is in the “Podcast” category of the storefront.
Backup + Safety Tools
Because you don’t get a do-over on someone’s wedding day.
Check the “Backups + Safety” list for every worst-case scenario-prepper item I rely on.
Final Thoughts: Build Your Kit With Intention
I didn’t buy all this at once, and I’m not saying you should either.
But if you’re building a photography business—especially one that demands travel, film, or elopements—you need tools that hold up under pressure.
Every item in my Amazon Storefront is something I’ve personally used and trusted.
If you have questions about why I picked something, how I use it, or whether it’s right for you, just send me a message—I’m always down to geek out about gear.
