Steps to the Glamping Crunchwrap

The key steps to making a crunch wrap is layering all the ingredients, and then folding in the tortilla shell. It can get a little messy, but it’s fine, the best kinds of tacos and people are.

Step 1: Prep your ingredients

Make sure to have all your ingredients laid out so you don’t forget anything (I’ve been known to do this)

Chop your cilantro, onion, and tomato. I prefer a small diced texture.

One extra step I do is actually prepare a corn cup (inspired by Mexican street food) to put inside so that the corn has a bit more of a creamy base vs just a toasted.

To make the corn cup, take your corn (canned, frozen, or fresh sweet corn is amazing for this) and toast it in a skillet. Once it is warm add in peppers, jalapeños, butter, mayo (I prefer the olive oil kind), cilantro, salt, pepper, cumin, garlic, paprika, and stir. If you want your veggies cooked more add in earlier.

If you want your veggies to have more a crunch add them at the end so they can sweat their flavor without getting too soft. Set the corn cup to the side until it’s ready to build.

Step 2: Cook your protein

If you’re using ground beef or chicken, make sure to cook all the way through, add seasoning, and then set to the side for the next step.

Step 3: Layer your tortilla

Large tortilla down inside your pan.

I add cheese first so it melts, then the corn cup, cilantro, protein choice, peppers etc, and final step I add the corn tortilla chips that will give it that crunch.

After I fill the center all up I start folding in the tortilla in that layered shape. Sometimes I get it right, other times I stuff it too full.

Step 4: Toast your Crunchwrap

Once I have it all folded I will carefully flip it over to toast the folded edge so that it wont fall apart.

Once that side is toasted I will flip it over to get the flat side of the tortilla and help melt the rest of the cheese.

Step 5: Enjoy with a beer / mocktail and make another

It may get messy, but eat it anyway! Have a sour cream or gauc on the side to dip it in!

Salsa is also a solid choice.

Enjoy the Crunchwrap with Epic Views

The best part of this is you get to do something fun with your partner, have food you love, and make memories during your elopement. You don’t have to always do a balls to the walls activity. It can be as quiet as cooking together and just being the goofy little humans you are.

It’s your elopement, you get to make the rules!

I’ll make sure to capture it all as it unfolds, so cheers to crunch wraps with epic views.
