One of my Favorite trips to Maine

Hello Humans!

Happy blog Tuesday!! We are back from our Summer vacation to Maine! I absolutely love going to Maine, Mark grew up in Maine / Massachusetts so for him it was going back home. We stayed with his parents at their family home.. but we really only slept and ate because the whole week was spent on Moose Pond, and adventuring around!

Mark stayed in Massachusetts for a couple days to attend the last Warped tour with his best friend Kevin, while I went up to Maine with Lori + Mitchell (My soon to be mother in law and brother in law!!)

We took our time getting to Maine, which we also had Lily with us (their Boarder Collie) and stopped for lunch at Johnson’s. I had this bomb grilled shrimp wrap!

Things to do in Maine:

-Local Farm stands (Farmer’s Daughters, The Pickle Farm)
-Local Food / Restaurants (DiMillio’s on the Water) http://www.dimillos.com/restaurant/
-Portland
-Moose Pond / Water activities
-Local shops
-This Donut shop that has Vegan options – The Holy Donut (https://theholydonut.com/)

Least ^ from my experience! We went to two different Lighthouses in Maine, and went exploring along the cost, finding rocks!

We also tried out some great restaurants! One was right on the water on a ship!

The local farm stands + blueberry /raspberry picking was one of my favorite things we did! I want to be able to take our future kids to Maine and have them experience real life outside of iPads + phones.

We also took the Cog railway up Mt Washington – the highest point in New England just under 6500 feet!

We took the jet ski’s and the boat, and the tubes out for swimming and honestly I think we spent at least 5-6 hours on the water a day. I also wore a swimsuit for the first time in years… but hey body positivity!

Oh, and don’t forget our competitive side when it comes to board games. Throughly enjoy getting beating at Risk by Lori Laracy.

Overall it was a great break for us to turn off the business phone, and just enjoy Summer! We are really excited to photograph two weddings this week though!!

Love,
Jamie + Mark

Travel tips and how we fly for cheap! Like $400 or less for both of us – round trip!

Flight: Skyscanner MSP to Boston Logan $300 Total for two roundtrip tickets

But keep in mind MSP parking is WICKED EXPENSIVE, so look into a park + fly hotel option for half the cost of parking at the hotel!
