Wedding Ceremonies for Non Religious

Wedding Ceremonies for Non Religious, POV from an agnostic leaning wedding and elopement photographer

I wanted to shed more light on things you can do for your wedding or elopement if you are also like me, non-religious. More into agnostic views, a mix of witchy vibes, and trusting the universe.

While my personal beliefs are not everyones, I know there are more people like me who just want to be around people who believe there is good left in the world worth fighting for!

Wedding Ceremonies for Non Religious

Wedding Ceremonies for Non Religious

As a wedding photographer who is not religious, and not afraid to say that (because it doesn’t make you a bad person to not belong to a religion) I had a hard time finding vendors that didn’t think less of me for it.

While I fully support my clients, I’m heavy on the statement, Not religious but will fight for your right to practice your religion. That’s the whole point of the USA, religious freedom, even if we have lost the plot a bit there.

Religion does have its ties to marriage, but not everyone follows the same religion or same views of the same religion.

You should be able to feel seen, and safe to be yourself with your elopement and wedding vendors. That’s why I tell clients openly, this is who I am, and I’m here to make sure you feel comfortable no matter who you love, how you love, and what God (or lack of) you want to worship.

Wedding & Elopement Joining Ceremony Ideas

Here are a few of my favorite things I’ve seen people do during their weddings or elopements that don’t involve religion.

  1. Planting a tree (Sharing dirt or watering)
  2. Just doing vows to each other
  3. Building a sammich together
  4. Taking a shot (alcoholic or non)
  5. Hiking together (The journey together)
  6. Cooking a full meal together
  7. Branding your new name (Board or canvas)
  8. Tattoos
  9. Painting (Mixing colors or color by number)
  10. Writing down goals for the first year of marriage together

Ready to work together? Let’s plan your non religious elopement or micro wedding!

I hope this gave you a few more ideas for your non religious wedding or elopement. I’m happy to help guide you in a world that sometimes feels excluding towards agnostic humans.

If you’re ready to work together, let’s do this. I fully plan elopements with my clients and take on a limited amount of weddings each year.
