Badlands National Park Elopement Photos

Have I ever explained how much I love National Park elopements?? This styled elopement at Badlands National Park was so epic, I can’t believe I haven’t shared more photos on the blog yet. Whether you’re trying to decide which national park to elope at or you just need some inspiration for Badlands, you’re in the right place my friend.

Soph + Matt’s Badlands National Park Elopement

In case you’re unfamiliar, styled shoots are usually hosted by fellow photographers or other wedding vendors in scenic places. The purpose is to provide couples like you with unique inspiration, reminding you that your wedding can look however the heck you want! This styled shoot at Badlands National Park was one of my favessss, and I highly recommend eloping here if you’re considering it!

I love Badlands NP for elopements because navigating the park is actually not as complicated as others I’ve been to. It’s so simple to drive in and pull off to find some super unique spots (all while respecting the land and following LNT principles, obviously) for you to tie the knot and take epic photos! We had the best time exploring the park with Soph and Matt, who are actually a real married couple who just love taking photos together. How freaking cute?? We got to the park right before sunset, which gave us the PERFECT lighting for their elopement photos. Just imagine that this is you and your partner, wandering around Badlands in your wedding attire, having the best time while laughing at all the jokes I’m making from behind the camera. The vibes would be RAD.

A few things to keep in mind about eloping at a national park

I can’t show you all the pretty photos without reminding you about the logistics! As with most NP’s, there is an entrance fee to get into Badlands. A regular private vehicle fee is $30, plus you have to take into consideration the permit fees to actually get married in the park. To submit your application, a non-refundable fee of $100 is required. That’s a lot less expensive than booking a standard wedding venue! And, as always, following the LNT principles is non-negotiable when eloping on any outdoor land. I have an entire blog about how to leave no trace during your elopement that you can read here!
